God’s power is revealed through prayer

We have a team of trained prayer ministers that are available and willing to pray for individuals at any time. They coordinate monthly prayer and worship meetings, offer weekly private prayer every Sunday morning, and facilitate special prayer events as needed. People can request prayer on our website, and the form is sent to the prayer ministers so that they can immediately begin praying for those requests.

Running a parish takes many hands. If you would like to help with our facilities or in our technology departments, please contact the parish office.

Seasonal Special Events

Are you looking for opportunities to spread God’s love to our community? Throughout the year, we accept donations for special projects, especially around the holidays. We provide turkey dinner boxes to 250 families at Thanksgiving, as well as food and gifts at Christmas. Hundreds of new or gently used coats are collected each year for people in our community who need a warm coat. At Easter, we fill over 200 Easter baskets with food, toiletries, and Easter goodies for kids in the community. These are distributed to local charities to be handed out to the people they serve. We’d love to have your help!

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Do you enjoy knitting or crocheting? We are blessed to have a group of ladies who like to knit or crochet in our church. They meet weekly to make prayer shawls, blankets, and baby blankets. These beautiful handmade items are blessed and given to every new baby baptized in the church, to the homebound, the sick, and the bereaved in memory of their loved ones. If you can knit or crochet, they’d love for you to join!

Journey Through Loss

Grief is a difficult journey, but you don’t have to walk the path alone. Journey Through Loss is a gathering for those struggling with the loss of a family member that brings the grieving together to share their challenges and offer support. This group is offered in the Spring and Fall.

Bereavement Ministry

If you have a heart for those who have experienced loss, consider volunteering for our Bereavement Ministry to offer support to families who have lost a loved one. You may provide meals, offer prayers, or a friendly face during a difficult time. Volunteers maintain this connection for a year after the loss with cards, letters, and prayers. Each year on All Saints Day (Nov. 1st), there is a special memorial service where parishioners who have passed away are remembered, and families are invited to come for a special mass.

Homebound Support

Seniors who become homebound struggle to stay connected to the parish. You can be the link that keeps them connected by joining the Homebound Support team, checking in on them and arranging for the Holy Eucharist to be brought to them if they choose. Support team members also mail birthday cards and weekly bulletins so they can stay in touch with what’s happening in their parish. Occasionally, someone may need a ride or an errand run, and we do our best to help.

Service Saturdays

Looking for a way to make a difference in the community? The third Saturday of every month from 9 am to noon, volunteers gather at the parish office to spend the morning in service to others. The ministry leader lines up several projects each month so that there are a variety of tasks for people of all skill levels. Projects include things like making blankets, road clean up, visiting nursing homes, and helping at St. Vincent de Paul. No matter what gifts you’ve been blessed with, you’ll have the opportunity to put them to good use!

Assistance Ministry

If helping people with financial needs is important to you, you may want to volunteer for our Assistance Ministry. This ministry receives requests from anyone in the community who needs financial assistance to help pay rent, utility bills, or other obligations. A group of volunteers oversees this ministry with financial support from a monthly parish collection.

St. Vincent DePaul

Do you feel called to feed the hungry and provide help to the needy? OMOS provides both financial support and volunteers to assist at the local food kitchen, which provides hot lunches during the week and on Saturdays throughout the year. St. Vincent DePaul Society also operates a thrift store, where our Service Saturday team assists with sorting donated clothes. We also have a drop-off bin on our campus for gently used clothes to be donated to St. Vincent De Paul.

Meal Train

Could you support fellow members of the parish by providing comforting, hot meals for those who may be recovering from an illness or surgery, have a new baby, or are experiencing a family crisis or loss? When meals are requested, a call goes out to our wonderful volunteers who make a schedule to provide meals as needed. People just like you make that happen, and we could use your help!

Joseph’s Hands

Are you handy with projects around the house? Joseph’s Hands is a group of parishioners with DIY skills who make themselves available to anyone who may need help with minor home repairs. When someone requests assistance, they assess the project to see if they have the skillset to complete the job. If it is beyond their scope or expertise, they provide recommendations to assist in getting the work done.

Food Pantry Collections

Donate food and hygiene products for those in need anytime the church office is open! Bins located in the parish office are for the collection of non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products. Once a month, our volunteers collect the items and take them to the local food bank. It’s another simple way to lend a helping hand while teaching children the importance of helping those in need.

Stuff the Truck

Support the work of a wonderful local charity! For one weekend each month, our volunteer coordinator picks a specific charity and holds a collection event. We get the word out to church members about what sort of items the charity needs, and you can drop off your donations when you come to Mass. Volunteers then load the items and transport them to the recipient. It’s a great way to support the efforts of local organizations by simply adding an item or two to your weekly shopping list!

High school ministry

Our high school students gather together on Sunday mornings and/or Wednesday evenings. We strive to meet the students where they are on their faith journey and help them know that they are an important part of our church family. We encourage them to become involved in our parish life and learn the importance of service to others. When a student enters high school and desires to be confirmed, they can begin the confirmation process. More information on this process is available on the Holy Sacraments page.

Children's Ministry Grades 6-8

Our junior high students, grades 6-8, gather for formation classes on Sunday mornings between the Sunday Masses from 9:30 to 10:45. These classes are taught by parent volunteers and encourage the students to engage in discussions of faith and life lessons. They are taught age-appropriate Catholic teachings, and the students participate in prayer and special activities to help them learn and live their faith.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place each week during Mass where children K- 2 are invited to come together for a special lesson on the Gospel that is geared for young children. They return to the Mass celebration after the priest’s homily.
